Project: Turbo T/A

This is really the start of the project. Overall, Im doing a homemade turbo setup and plan to run about 5-6 PSI without touching the internals or fuel system. I hope to put down about 400 to the wheels after all is said and done. Here is what Im starting with:

Its a 2000 Trans Am WS6 its an M6 with 44k miles. Its pretty stock, minus a flowmaster exhaust that will be coming off. While I dont have a turbo set in stone, Im looking at something around a T70 to T76 size turbo. The plan is to put this in the garage mid-Sept to begin tear down and fitting.
Today I went ahead and ordered the hot side piping(prebent and welded), intercooler, and an SLP LS6 oil pump. Im awaiting a response back from someone on a Tial BOV and wastegate, pending that I will order the intercooler piping. I found someone local selling an LS6 intake manifold and a Turbonetics T-76, hopefully tomorrow I will pick those up and order the coolant pipes necessary for the conversion. I plan on doing the intake manifold on of the weekends before the actual teardown.

Heres some pictures of what im planning to do:
First things first I need to make room for the turbo as it will be placed just infront of the belt. Im going to cut about 2-3" off the core support to allow the condenser and radiator to stand up easier. I need to look at the bottom of the core support to see what it looks like still.

In an effort to retain my fog lights, Im going to be chopping up the fromt of the bumper support to fit my intercooler(24x12x3). Will also be fastening the intercooler to the remainder of the support. (the measurements in the picture are horribly off, I have since remeasured )

For the intake and charge(up) piping i will be relocating the battery to the trunk, as well as the coolant reservoir(in the engine compartment, not the trunk haha). The hole that the reservoir left will need to be cut a little more to allow both pipes.

Now, here is the vent in the passenger side that will actually supply airflow to the intake. This is a perfect spot IMO, the intake is not so close that I need to worry about water but close enough to have good airflow.

These drawings arent exact but are a rough estimate. Im always looking for people to help out or stand around and point. lol. I will keep this thread as updated as I can. My first investment will be a digital camera, this cellphone isnt cutting it!

Looks like a good winter project. I'll enjoy watching how you pull it off.

He will be able to tune his stock computer for his mods. The stock ecu is a very powerful processor.

Didnt manage to pick up the t-76 or LS6 intake manifold also didnt get any more info on the Tial BOV and wastegate. :-( I bought the necessary parts for the LS6 intake manifold conversion and should get them in a couple days. Also the front half of my Eibach 1.5" springs are going in tomorrow.

Eibachs aren't that bad. I had way stiffer springs in mine. The Eibach rears are too low and too soft for f-bods. You wind up hitting the bump stops a lot.
